March 23, 2009

Sorry been a tad busy lately having some fun car issues and all that woo...
There's not a lot happening in the world of fashion that has really caught my attention. Although I am totally getting addicted to this show on the style network called Running in Heels. I am absolutely obsessed with reality tv....it's a good break from my own reality one of bills and no thrills. So this show, it's kinda of ridiculous because these three interns OMG but come on they are not putting very much effort into this job. Just last night one of them left early on a Friday to go hang out with her boyfriend in DC leaving the other two completely helpless at Marie Claire's product sale. And the other two they don't seem to be putting in much effort they are doing the bare minimum. If it was me at that internship I would be there day and night, but it's not my life and it's not my dream.
I have an important point to stress here today, spring break has started for some schools and I have seen an alarmingly high amount of people looking well orange. Do you not learn from others before you from all the shows telling you to go easy? You might as well go work as an Oompa Loompa.
So I was reading my monthly mags you know Cosmo Glamour and Elle and they seem to be contradicting each other. Cosmoplitan seems to think that red lips are out but Glamour says their in. Who do you believe? In MY OPINION red lips are not out. They are still in full swing and will always be they are a classy look that gives women confidence and makes them stand out just remember if your going to do a red lip don't go dark on the eyeshadow.

Online Shopping

So I was shopping online today and I came across this great shoe site. Once you get passed the ugly stripper shoes they have some pretty cute shoes and the best part is their all on sale! They even have designer shoes! It's called greatstyledeals.com they find great shoe deals for you and they not only have shoes but they have clothing for men and women, accessories, beauty products and even stuff for your house. Another similar site is shopittome.com I use this daily, I like it better because you can select the brands that you want and it is personalized to what you are looking for, and they e-mail great deals to you daily, I just got a great DVF dress for more than 50% off. So here's what shoes I bought some mary james, some pumps, a pair of booties and these great platforms:

Here's what I love love love about these shoes: the red heal on the platforms is perfect it's a great take on Christian Louboutin's. You can pair that with a simple black dress a la Audrey Hepburn and the red heal would be such an unexpected pop of color. The grey booties are great with a pair of jeans and the mary janes are perfect with just about anything. The blue heals are by far the cutest, they would be perfect with a black ensemble or with a white one, as long as it's a neutral color you don't want to add to much color or it will be distracting, a similar clutch or bag would be cute. Here's a dress that would go great with all of the shoes above, it's from Issac Mizrahi for Target and it's only $22.49

And remember as the great Yves Saint Laurent said: "Fashion fades, style is eternal".

Forever 21

Forever 21 is my absolute favorite place to shop especially when I'm on a budget. They always have the latest trends at affordable prices especially now during the recession. So if you're a recessionista you should check out www.forever21.com The thing that I like the most is the shop by outfit section. If your going though a style block (my version of a writing block) you should check it out! They have great stylists working on great outfits that can work for anyone. What's even better they now have swimsuits, so you can be stylish every day of the year. Here's a taste of what I'm talking about:

Oh and if your looking for great shoes at a low cost forever 21 is the place for you! I just bought the cutest pair of platforms for just $29.80. And now they even have men's clothing! Just always remember to be fashionable does not always mean expensive!

My First Blog!

It's my first blog yey!!! This is very exciting. So, this blog is obviously dedicated to my fashion obsession :) It is here to serve my addiction to fashion and I have very many opinions I need to share!
Ok so I need to start by saying WHAT IS WITH THE UGLY SHOES????!!!? Do they really expect us to wear these things? I mean YSL literally wants us to cage our feet!

And all this for the low price of just 995$ Who in their right mind would wear these? And keep in mind these are boots do they expect us to wear in the winter time? THERE ARE HOLES IN THE FREAKING SHOES!
One thing I do love about the shoes this sea
son PLATFORMS. I am all about platforms. They are comfortable, sky high heels that make your legs look amazing, every woman should own at least one pair.

Stepping away from heels..pun intend
ed..probably not very funny but whatever, I love how there are so many different vintage inspired clothes out, and I'm not talking about the 80s because the only good thing that came out of that decade in terms of fashion is neon clothing and leggings, I'm talking about all the other decades that haven't been so tragic. I love how designers have been pulling looks from different decades, for example the shift dress and the jumpsuit I love that their making a comeback! One person that I personally think is pulling off the vintage look, ok two people, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, I love love love their 40's inspired clothing! They really should not be getting all this criticism. What should be criticized is the fact that every couple of seasons designers bring back the "hippie chic" look OK we get it already so stop can't you think of anything new?

But moving on here are some looks I love love love from Paris Fashion Week which in my opinion is the one everyone should be attending because Paris is after all the Fashion Capital of the World.

Style is an acquired taste!
